Tampering with your brain
Attacks on the mind, and how to recognize them
This information is for informational purposes only and its use is provided at your own risk. I am not a lawyer, medical professional or mental health professional and this does not replace the advice of such a professional.
Possibly the most difficult to deal with form of satellite attack is when the satellite is used directly against your brain.
To put it in coarse terms, the intention is usually to make you ‘dumber’ in some area. They will often pair these with physical symptoms so that you associate your poor cognitive performance with the physical ailment that you think you have.
The Neural Net calls their attacks on your nervous system ‘disruption’. My impression as to why is that they think referring to satellite attacks as ‘disruption’ instead of ‘assault’ or something else will somehow protect them in court. I prefer to call it nervous system ‘tampering’ instead of ‘disruption’, although I am not a lawyer.
I am told that the existing intellect that you have really matters. From what I have been told by the handlers, to really cripple a smart person you have to crank it up so high that you use a lot of power - so much so that you risk killing them. Though the Neural Net has no problem with killing someone, an unplanned death creates a problem that has to be covered up, which is much harder if you are keeping good records.
There are a couple forms this can take. Note that this list isn’t complete, and I don’t have access to the manual. These are just the forms I have experienced.
Metacognition
When they disrupt this center, you will have trouble focusing, planning as well as with making impulsive decisions you would otherwise restrain. If they use this on you, you will feel loopy and unfocused. Distractions you would otherwise tune out become very tantalizing. It’s easy to go in circles when you’re being disrupted, and you might find your mind circling between your main task and the distractions around it without getting anything done. When this gets turned up, it will feel harder to take a thread- be it an idea, or a task, and follow it all the way through to the end.
Logical reasoning
This one can really hurt your problem-solving. You will problems involving reasoning will suddenly be much harder. Number crunching, logical inference, and thinking ahead will be impacted. This will impact your ability to calculate a tip as well as your chess game.
Creativity / Risk assessment
If you are the kind of person who generates a lot of ideas, you will feel the well run to a trickle, or completely dry. You won’t feel those ‘aha’ moments when you see a new pattern as much. There are other little clues. Music won’t feel as good to listen to. If you try to hum along to a song, you will have more trouble being in tune. Your experience of the world will feel less visceral and vivid. You will feel emotionally kind of numb and the world will feel less vivid. If it’s turned up enough it can give you a feeling that’s similar to waking up from anesthesia, only you might still have your energy if they are not trying to make you fatigued.
Tampering with your creativity is not just about stopping you from painting or finishing that coding problem. This form of attack is actually extremely dangerous, because shutting down your creativity also impacts your ability to assess risks.
If they shut down your creativity, making you numb to emotion and risk, and then pair it with another attack - say one that arouses your emotions - like ‘sad mode’ or ‘rage mode’, then a situation can get extremely dangerous and you can get into real trouble.
Social intelligence
Shutting this one down makes you less interested in, and able to relate to, people. You will feel a lot more aloof and socially awkward than you otherwise would. Social situations will feel more forced and less easy. If they want you to behave more like a psychopath they combine this with an attack that adds emotions such as arrogance and/or rage into the mix.
Language
This one is actually the easiest to notice. They can tamper with your language functions in short bursts to make you stumble or stutter. They can also just leave it on. At a low level you will be less articulate. When turned up higher, you will find yourself stuttering more often, stumbling over your words, repeating phrases, and having trouble getting a sentence out. People can be very superficial and have a very condescending impression of what they see, not realizing that you are being hit by the satellite. (or that there are people out there who are not that verbal but are also brilliant)
This one can be used to try to make you look less intelligent in public, or in meetings, or also, less believable when you are trying to ask for help from someone.
Spatial intelligence
When they tamper with this one, you will have trouble judging distances and shapes. This one is really bad when you are driving.
Combinations
My understanding is that there are certain combinations of attacks on your nervous system that the Neural Net will use and reuse over time. A few common ones are below.
“The Cocktail”
One of these combinations is known as “The Cocktail”. From what I am told it is a special formulation of nervous system tampering that is designed to make it as hard as possible to get anything done. It is specially formulated to target knowledge workers. From what I am told, it involves “tampering with every brain center slightly”, and then adding inflammation and sleep mode to drain your energy. It feels like being fatigued, mentally fuzzy and groggy, and I personally have found my sinuses always get stuffed up with the inflammation.
The Hangover
I can’t really tell you what this one feels like because I don’t usually drink, and my handlers haven’t used it on me yet (that I know of and remember).
“Asperger mode”
This one, I’m told involves disruption of your social skills, your balance, and some mood tampering that makes you feel sad.
Psychopath mode
This mode involves shutting down your social skills and empathy, and also tampering with your mood to make it angry. I’m told they also add some arrogance to the mood tampering as well.
Insanity mode
This mode I’m told is particularly bad:
“Nathan what we do is we take every satellite mode that makes you feel an emotion and then we turn them all on at once.”
How to respond
When you are fighting the satellite, your mind is far and away your most important weapon. Not having all of your faculties in a fight that involves the satellite is a lot like being stuck in the woods with a wet box of old matches instead of a fire starter.
This form of attack is the hardest to respond to because instead of attacking your body, where you can think about how to solve the problem, it attacks your problem solving capacity itself. Even if you know this capability exists, know it might get used on you, and catch it as soon as it starts happening it is still really hard to deal with, especially on your own.
“Nathan, your existing strength in an area really matters when it comes to satellite disruption is our term, of your nervous system.”
Prompt detection is really important when it comes to managing a situation that involves attacks on the mind. Think through what it feels like and how your senses work, and how you feel when you are you, and check in with yourself. If you find yourself thinking abnormally, take note of it immediately and compare your sense of how you are feeling and perceiving with what normal is.
If you find yourself thinking ‘I really don’t feel like myself’ then that is a big red flag.
As with anything else with the satellite, knowing these capabilities exist - and knowing to check yourself- will help you improve your sense of what is going on.
This is where having a supportive team can really help you. With you checking yourself, and others checking on you, your team can help you respond and working together you can read the situation, extract the intelligence, and hit back.
